ESMC Announces Ryan Tregaskes as New CEO to Lead Membership Organization to Scale
June 3, 2025: ESMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Tregaskes as its new CEO, effective June 23. Ryan is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of leadership in sustainability, business operations, and environmental innovation. With a distinguished career in carbon, renewable energy, and environmental program implementation, Ryan’s technical knowledge will support his leadership of the member-based organization to drive scale in science-backed, producer-involved environmental service markets, which is vitally needed for supply-chain partners and producers alike.
Ryan will lead and grow ESMC’s research and ecosystem services market program, Eco-Harvest. ESMC’s cutting-edge research and producer-involved business model sets the organization apart, which he is deeply committed to. Growing up on a farm, Ryan brings the operational and leadership capabilities ESMC needs to serve the membership, project implementers, and most importantly, agriculture producers.
Emily Johannes, Chair of the ESMC Board of Directors, noted, “Ryan’s deep experience working in agriculture and in carbon markets makes him the ideal CEO to lead ESMC through our next chapter. Not only does he have a strong background in agriculture and appreciation for what farmers do, he grew up on a farm and has also developed and grown environmental market-based programs. We are thrilled that Ryan is joining ESMC.”
Ryan has held pivotal executive roles, including serving as the Founder and CEO of Grow Right Solutions, COO of Evergreen Carbon Offsets, and Carbon Principal at Anthesis Group. He has led market expansion, capital strategy, and leveraged innovative technologies like blockchain and AI to drive transparency, scalability, and trust across environmental markets. With a deep-rooted background in agriculture and soil science, Ryan has played a key role in regenerative agriculture, soil carbon sequestration, and sustainable supply chain transformation. His early career at Helena Agri-Enterprises as a Senior Sales Representative and Agronomist provided him with foundational expertise in plant pathology, soil chemistry, and crop yield optimization—critical insights that he has applied to carbon farming and sustainable land-use projects. Committed to driving global impact, Ryan is focused on unlocking scalable solutions that bridge climate finance, agriculture, and corporate sustainability to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Said Ryan, “I am honored to lead ESMC at such a pivotal moment for agriculture and climate. The demand for producer-included, science-based environmental outcome solutions has never been greater. ESMC is uniquely positioned to deliver impact at scale because we are driven by and for our members and producers. I am excited to partner with buyers to deploy ecosystem services; one that drives real outcomes, supports farmers & ranchers, and defines what market integrity looks like.”
Ryan lives in Texas with his wife and son where he enjoys competing in equestrian events as a family, autocrossing, and spending time outdoors.
