ESMC Publishes 2024 Annual Report Showcasing Impacts from EcoHarvest Projects and Programming Enhancements
September 16, 2025 –
The Ecosystem Services Market Consortium (ESMC) released our 2024 Annual Report today.
The report highlights our key programmatic accomplishments and activities over the year such as:

- Developing a co-investment & co-claiming project model so buyers along the supply chain can increase the value and impact of their investments
- Incorporating producer feedback from prior years to restructure EcoHarvest payments – making project participation and outcomes payments more reliable and timelier
- Increasing our data automation, accuracy and security through expanded MRV capabilities to reduce the time and expense of data collection and verification
- Modeling and valuing water and biodiversity outcomes to expand our offerings
- Hiring new team members and welcoming new board members as well as increasing membership engagement opportunities
In 2024, 11 EcoHarvest projects included over 175 producers on more than 165,000 acres across 12 U.S. states and Canadian provinces. These producers implemented practice changes including cover crops, reduced/no till, and increased nutrient management and were compensated.
As we move from intervention to inventory accounting for our 2024 results and into 2025, we identified real-world challenges in behavior change and practice adoption — offering valuable insights to refine producer engagement and program design. We are taking these learnings as we conduct 2025 projects to better tailor producer support and improve compliance.
Read about these achievements and our future direction in the 2024 Report.
